Juvenile Justice System

The book was first published in the year 2010 in association with unicef with the object of familiarizing the stakeholders with their duties and responsibilities under the Act in a simplified and user-friendly manner. After the publication of the book, Legal Assistance Forum organised workshops in different parts of the country and has done consultation at different levels so as to develop a self-corrective monitoring mechanism for Juvenile Justice Board and Special Juvenile Police Unit. Second edition of the book was published in the year 2012 which included a monitoring mechanism that provided for maintaining ‘case monitoring sheet’ and regular reporting by JJB. The first two editions of the book have achieved the aforesaid objective to a great extent, since the book has been used extensively in the training programs conducted by unicef, NIPCCD, High Courts and State Governments.
